One of the three strategic pillars of GCU is capacity building which aims at improving contracts, concessions and development agreements management and performance. The other two are compliance which aims at ensuring maximum value from all contracts, concessions and other agreements. The third pillar is integrity which aims to build public trust and good governance in planning, implementation and management of contracts, concessions and development agreements being managed by MDAs. GCU has thus developed a contract management training scheme (training manual) on the basis of which the Malawi School of Government (Kanengo and Mpemba campuses) can offer training courses in contract management to the public sector as part of their regular course programs. GCU is also developing a contract management manual as reference and practical guide by the public sector whenever they are embarking on contract management
